About me
I've been traveling for a long time, On the way I've had a baby in a strange country with no family around. I swore allegiance to another flag and got another passport, I signed up for the US navy, I joined the police, volunteered in the US, Ireland & Poland. I've buried a best friend and a boyfriend. I've had more disastrous relationships than Liz Taylor; I've survived car wrecks, 3 crash landings on planes, a war in the Middle East, riots in India, and was lost on a boat in Iranian waters and rescued by the coast guard after being found by the US military on their radar. I bought my own boat and I bought and sold my own pub, won a best actress award, wrote and toured with a play, appeared on stage in Ireland and the USA, but most important I've raised an amazing son. Along the way I've been to 140 countries, currently battling cancer but the goal is to see everywhere.

Munich, where to eat drink what to see
Australia set up a consulate office in Munich purely for its citizens to recover lost passports at Oktoberfest.
Opatija Croatia and why Croatians love it
None of my friends had ever hear of Opatija and I don’t think I would have had I not had to meet a boat there on my recent sailing trip to Croatia. Why is it a secret? why doesn’t anyone …
Naples – most under rated city in Italy
Im in shock more people dont come here. I would take this over Rome any-day, its far more authentic and alive. Cities like Florence are like feeding grounds for tourists and this is truly Italy.
Brno – 10 reasons I love it.
Brno is a heavenly break from all of this while still delivering on charm, excellence, authenticity, price, beauty, theater, arts, markets, restaurants, history and its a student city with about 90,000 city so it feels alive. For those who want night life you will find it here, and for those who would like a quiet break you will also find that, everything is here and in summer you can be at one with nature and in winter there are the winter sport options and the evenings sitting in cafe’s sipping great coffee or the best hot chocolate in the world in my opinion.
Venice to Rijeka public transport
More importantly as a woman travelling alone I feel perfectly safe and no one hassles me at all. I find the captain of my boat and the man who will hold his life in my hands for the next month. I made it. I’ve arrived safely to Croatia.
CROATIA – this is what I found
Croatia had been on my list for years I loved it long before it was called Croatia in fact. In 1987 I worked with a chef from Yugoslavia in Munich years and he always talked about the beauty of his country. …
Osor – day-2-sailing-Croatia
We awoke to the usual smell of fresh coffee and ate breakfast on the aft deck, then the task of cleaning up and getting everything ready for our sail to Osor, which should be about 4 hours. The map is out and we are making tracks.
